About me

Who I am

I am Andreas, and I am interested in things that require a closer look: structures in materials, details in the night sky, technical connections, good images, and projects where, in the end, there is sometimes one screw left over and yet everything still somehow seems plausible. Professionally, I work with materials, microscopy, and joining technologies. I completed my M.Sc. in Systems Engineering in 2017 and earned my doctorate in Materials Science in 2024. Outside of that, this site mostly collects notes on astronomy, photography, 3D printing, technology, and everything else I come across somewhere between camera, telescope, workbench, and screen.
